Egypt's Gezira Sporting Club Commissions HCG to Create Master Plan
Houston Cuozzo Group, Inc. (HCG) was recently commissioned by Egypt's Gezira Sporting Club to produce a master plan and provide landscape architectural services for the club's new 50-acre satellite facility to be located in 6th October City, a fast-growing area east of Cairo and within a short distance of the Great Pyramids. The members-only Gezira Sporting Club, located in the heart of Cairo and in its 125th year of operation, is one of Egypt's greatest outdoor sporting attractions.

HCG Completes Final Stage of International Design Competition
HCG's Sahl Hasheesh Phase III Proposal Under Consideration by Egyptian Resort Company
HCG, Inc., recently completed the final stage of an international design competition for a world-class 6,995 acre sustainable tourist resort destination on the Red Sea near Hurghada, Egypt. HCG, along with its Egyptian partner architects EGAM, was selected as one of three international destination design firms to prepare a detailed proposal for the project. The project's owner/developer, Egyptian Resort Company (ERC), will select a final winner of the competition by late January 2010.

Mayan Riviera Developers Invite Proposal by
HCG Design Team
In October of 2009, HCG was contacted by Grupo AGM of Mexico City, Mexico about planning and designing their new resort site in the Mayan Rivera. Grupo representatives invited HCG, along with two other internationally recognized firms, to visit the property located in Playa del Carmen along the eastern coast of Mexico.

HCG Provides Planning and Design Services for Eco Center
HCG’s “Green” Site Plan and Landscape Design Targets LEED Gold
HCG recently provided planning and landscape architectural design services for what will become the City of Stuart's first LEED certified building, a 6,045 sq. ft. commercial/office building located atop an abandoned landfill on 2.88 acres. The project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED project with the target of Gold certification. The first phase of a two-phase project, the Eco Center will feature the latest green construction techniques in a commercial office building setting. The client, Eco Ventures LLC, expects to begin construction in early 2010.

HCG Working with Martin County Habitat for Humanity
HCG Helps East Stuart Go Green
HCG, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity of Martin County have joined forces in an effort to provide 'green' affordable homes to well-deserving area residents. Michael Houston, Principal of HCG was recently named President of the Habitat Board of Directors. In addition, HCG's LEED(R) AP Robin Pelensky guided Habitat through a grant application process which led to the non-profit group securing a $100,000 grant from the City of Stuart to support the City's and Habitat's goal of building affordable and energy efficient homes in the East Stuart community. The grant requires that homes built with the proceeds be designed and constructed to a recognized green standard. Although the City does not require that Habitat go through an actual certification process, Habitat's Executive Director Margot Graff said she fully anticipates that the homes will be built to meet LEED(R) Gold standards upon completion.
